Lendi Vexer: Featured Group april/2007. See on-line...

Our featured group for this month hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Self-described as trip-hop, it's hard to thrust Lendi Vexer in that category and leave them there! They have trance, darker undertones, a little soul thrown in on ocassion... Their unique sound prompted Guto of Tripofagia to write, "Tribute to Desolation is one of the nicest melancholic trip-hop songs I've ever heard..." And to top it all off they're one of the most playable trip-hop bands *I've* ever heard!
This female-fronted band came out with their CD Suicidal Adage in 2004. It's one of the few CDs that I have bought based on instinct without ever actually listening to it. I got it in the mail about a week into 2005, popped it into my player...See on-line (complet)...[...]

"Bristol, England might have been the source of the original trip hop sound, but it's not until we look towards Buenos Aires, Argentina that we see a group brave enough to create trip hop that sees a return to the old ideals, but at the same time takes it to new levels of sadness and melancholia previously unheard of. Enter Lêndi Vexer, the incredible duo composed of DG and Natalie Naveira that makes music that tugs at your soul, music that both touches you and puts you in touch with some of the darker aspects of love. The secret to their music is simple: the two have talents that, when put together, complement each other and their music perfectly. DG creates powerful and dark music that lopes along like a gently flowing stream, each melancholy note slivered with a hint of a more touching emotion. You can see his talent in the variety of orchestrations he produces, from the beat-laden "Tribute to Desolation", to the mixing of "found sounds" in 'Scape, to the piercing, yet mellow and lugubrious noises of "Nothing Was Special". And each composition is complemented perfectly by the hauntingly angelic voice of Natalie. In every case she pours her heart and soul into the music, her voice riding DG's soundscapes with a dreamy melancholia that has rarely been heard outside of Portishead, Massive Attack, or Tricky's circle; her voice *will* pierce you to the very core, and you will find yourself enchanted. And in each case where it is appropriate, she brings to bear her mastery of the guitar and even the Theremin, always adding more and more flavor to the music. This is trip hop that embraces the old standards, and I would highly recommend it to anyone that thought trip hop was getting soft over the years, or who appreciates a melodious female voice complementing synthesized beats and grooves."

Firstly let me say that you guys have produced some nice work here. Your music touches the soul, which is what all true art should do. The production is very clean and reminiscent of classic trip hop ala Portishead's Dummy.

"They are the best group I've heard since Portishead. I first heard them as A.D.N. on mp3.com and have been trying to buy their music for around 4 years now!..."
